What You Can Expect

Your tour will begin upon getting picked up from your hotel. While pick-up times do vary, sometimes greatly. Once your professional driver picks you up at your hotel, your tour will begin. Climb aboard your air-conditioned Vehicle and prepare yourself for a morning of fun. In addition to being a safe driver, your driver will also be your expert guide to Abu Dhabi and the desert.

As you travel from your hotel to the desert, you’ll watch as the hustle and bustle of the city fades into the background, and the stunning desert scenery comes into focus. After some time, you’ll arrive in the desert and the fun will begin. If you’re up for it, your driver will treat you to some exhilarating dune bashing. After the dune bashing, you’ll get to arrive at your campsite, which is a Bedouin-style camp. If you’re not familiar, the Bedouin people are Arabic-speaking nomadic groups. At this camp, you can relax and take in the culture of the people, sit on the cushions and enjoy the decorative carpets. After you’ve taken a quick break, it’s time for the activity that you’ve been waiting for—your camel ride. When you think of the desert, you probably think of camels and sand. Camels are designed to walk through the desert on little water and their bodies are designed to protect them from the heat and sand that comes with the desert.

 

Now, you’re not going to be on your camel for nearly long enough to worry about the camels. After your guide explains safety measures to keep in mind and gives you instructions for riding your camel, it’s time to mount up. Your guide will lead you through the desert sand on camel-back. After about 30 minutes, you’ll return to your campsite. From there, you can partake in other desert activities like sand boarding. Sand boarding is very much like snowboarding.
